We celebrated Daddy’s 79th Birthday today! Had a beautiful lunch at the Odyssey followed by tiramisu cake at home. Daddy shared his stories about bowling for a UCLA local Cricket team in the late 1960’s The Harlequins. Mommy looked fabulous while modeling both mine and Nicks shades, and Jatin enjoyed some chicken and waffles! Happy Birthday to our beautiful dad. We love you!!!!
Our handsome, intelligent, warm and caring first born turned 14 this week! We couldn’t be more proud of this stupendous guy. He’s such a hard worker, has the most affectionate heart and exudes goodness in everything he does. We love you Jatin!!!
His birthday fell on a Tuesday morning which is a late school start so we got to have waffles at home for breakfast and I did my usual mommy birthday interview before he was off to school.
42 here we are!! Neeru sent beautiful flowers that arrived Sunday night! Birthday fell on a Monday this year. Worked a bit but took the majority of the day to have fun 🤩 Lunched at Nordstrom Cafe with Nick. Kids and Nick showered me with lovely cards and mango cake and then Nick and I headed off to Yamashiro in Hollywood! Nick also surprised me with a Romero Britto / Puma limited edition sweatshirt. It was very windy and cloudy on the way to dinner so the views were not as clear as they should have been but it was still a lovely night out. Tuesday morning I continued the celebration with a lovely breakfast with Mommy and Daddy and on Thursday we had dinner at Joeys with mommy and daddy. This beautiful child, our darling baby girl Aanika turned 10 years old today!! Here she is enjoying her 10 kisses of chocolate from her daddy to celebrate her 10th birthday!!
Aanika started her morning by visiting the doggies in their home 🙂 I’m pretty sure she woke them up lol.
Aanika went to school wearing her custom made tie for shirt. We weren’t allowed to bring any goods for a party this year but I did make her a custom funfetti and banana custard cake decorated with blue, purple and pink icing and characters from Trolls 🙂
Nick and I took the day off to hang out and celebrate his 44th birthday today as we always do! We made reservations at Salt Baes new restaurant in Beverly Hills so we went down there a bit early and walked Rodeo drive for a bit and then had a fabulous lunch.
We ordered the tomahawk with garlic mashed potatoes and fried onion and for dessert we had baklava that is flown in fresh from Turkey!
In the afternoon we headed home and had mocktails (which were a big fail lol) but I had to try 🙂 I made dirty cokes which are coconut, lime, Coca Cola and half an half poured over ice!
We started the day with a lovely brunch at mom and dads house. The boys got an early start and took the Ferrari out for a spin to Malibu and met us at brunch. Aanika waited all of 10 minutes before deciding to jump into the beautiful pool!
The evening before we all got together as a family for the first time in over a year to celebrate Shriya’s 21st Birthday!
Family is everything and we are so blessed to be surrounded by our loving family in such close proximity.
Jatin skipped out on the family party to hang with his best friend Mark and Charlie for Marks birthday! A hit was extra special because they haven’t been able to hang out in over a year either!
Our baby Jatin is officially a teenager!! And what an amazing young man he’s turning into. Besides his voice changing, his limbs have officially stretched and he super lean. He loves working out daily with Nick and enjoys Anime and Manga. He is sweet, sincere, loves to take interest in others old and young and has a heart of gold. He’s an awesome big brother and such a loving son. We are blessed to have him as our kiddo and can’t wait to see what the next years bring.
He started his day with pull-ups with his dad and the agreement was in between each set he would get to open up a gift! The highlight was clearly the limited edition One Piece watch that Nick had preordered months in advance!
He and Aanika had some chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast!
It was a Monday so we all went about our day with virtual school and work. Then Nana and Nani joined us for cake time. I had fun spending Sunday making his 3 layer chocolate cake with buttercream frosting.
After cake celebrations we took Jatin out for dinner for the first time since March. We went to Gus’s Barbecue. It was lovely!

Had a lovely low key birthday celebration this year. Went to Marmalade Cafe In calabasas on Saturday with Nick and on Sunday Mommy and Daddy joined us for tea and cake. Beautiful flowers, cards, a very huge snuggly wearable blanket paired with mango mousse cake 🙂
Usually we would be in Idaho this weekend but Grinkers has officially closed due to the pandemic so Nick and Kris organized a farewell to Grinkers zoom on Saturday night. We all shared stories about Grinkers past events and sent our love to Steve and his family for creating such an unforgettable event for all of us. It was sad but great to see everyone again.
And to add icing to the cake the lakers won the championship on my birthday after 10 years!!!
Our beautiful, unicorn Aanika turned 9 today! She woke up with her usual sweet “good morning mommy, let’s go downstairs and get something to eat.” She then proceeded to pickup her calculator and call her Nani to see if she was coming over. I told her that her Nani and Nana would be joining us for cake time.
Aanika and Jatin had zoom school until noon and then we all did presents and cake over their lunch. Aanika was most excited for her Peppa Pig cake decorations and her new lipglosses!
After school we quit work a bit early and took the kids swimming. 107 degrees end of September…only in LA.
Aanika requested cheeseburgers and vanilla ice cream for dinner so we picked up food from the habit. She’s a cutie pie! Growing up more and more every day and this year especially being home seems to be helping her quite a bit.

Nick is the first of our family to celebrate his birthday in this crazy Covid 2020 world. We couldn’t make plans out but had a great birthday weekend anyway! The usual fanfare of a Gundara weekend was included; biking to Sherman Oaks, corner bakery breakfast, a stop at a local donut shop, family swim time, movies and board game time.
I had Katie send me the names of local stores that carried a chip brand called Burger Rings. Nick said he had them when he lived in Australia in 1988 but hasn’t tasted them since! Jatin picked out a a new board game RISK and we had strawberry shortcake with mommy and daddy in the backyard.
Nick decided that we would all get gifts for his birthday. He gifted Jatin a subscription to a Anime online movie collection. He gifted me a beautiful new Swell cooler for the pool and got and installed an amazing flying saucer swing for Aanika (which we are all LOVING!)
We closed out the evening with a game of risk that of course birthday boy won!
