Our beautiful Aanika graduated from middle school this morning.

She chose the red dress over the blue one and proudly walked across the stage to receive her certificate. Her Nani joined me for the celebration, making the day even more special.

After the ceremony, we met outside her classroom where her teacher, Mrs. Alcantara, surprised her with a gold medal for being bilingual. We were so proud. She also had the chance to visit and say her goodbyes to some of the wonderful people who have been part of her middle school journey—Ms. Felix, Ms. Cashman, Mr. Lorenzano, Mr. Fabio, and her friend Alekx, who will be attending high school with her this fall.

Afterward, she stopped by to see Gulu for a coffee visit and then headed home to spend time with Daddy.

I’m not sure Aanika fully understands that she is about to begin a brand-new chapter in high school with new teachers, new classmates, and new experiences. What I do know is that she has done an incredible job throughout middle school. Her teachers and staff will miss her, and we will miss them too. They have been such an important part of her growth and success.

Onward to high school, cutie pie. May you continue to earn gold medals in whatever brings you joy and makes you shine.
