Ahhhhh another year of school portraits. Jatin is a rockstar and did great for his 5th grade portrait! Aaniku as always is a cutie pie but the photographer didn’t get her looking into the camera. Anyhow – still a memory that I’m sure we’ll cherish and laugh at many years down the line!
Aanika and Jatin performed in this years Germain Holiday Show 2017. Jatin was on double duty because he performed with both chorus as well as 5th grade and was an announcer! I learned my lesson this year and hid from Aanika during her performance and she did much better! Ms. S was giving her chocolate throughout the performance to stay up on stage 🙂

The kiddos had their first day of school today. Jatin is now a big man on campus as he embarks his last year at Germain as a 5th grader! Aanika is entering Kindergarten and is currently the only girl in her classroom of 5 🙂 She’ll fit right in! Good luck sweetie pies. I know you’re going to be amazing as you always are!!
The kids have been celebrating all week with performances, water parties and hanging out in anticipation of summer vacation! Aanika received a the social role model award!! Below are some highlights.
Jatin performed a dance to “Oh Susana” and sang “I’ve got that feeling” with Chorus and the 4th grade this year! He definitely had the coolest Cowboy Hat! 🙂
We joined the kids for their annual school family Valentines Dance this year. It was pouring so everyone was crowded into the gym. Jatin had fun dancing with his friends and we managed to get a family portrait taken! Aanika was a little cutie pie as always with the classic buns that our lovely babysitter Jenny whips up in under 2 minutes! For valentines at school this year Jatin had to write personalized notes to each of his classmates which was very sweet. He got back some notes that had a consistent theme of being a great friend, being very funny (class clown ??), and very sweet! Aanika also worked with me on personalizing valentines for her classmates. We used the beautiful paper from Neeru’s wedding cards and made handmade heart valentines this year with Aanika’s stamp and drawn A’s as her signature. All in all a lovely valentines day….but in our house Valentines is year round 😉
The kids performed in their annual school winter concert. Jatin was in 4 featured songs with Chorus and 4th grade and Aanika performed 2 songs with her class and the 1st graders. Mommy (Nani) and I were pleasantly surprised that our Aanika darling stayed on stage for the entire performance even after she spotted me in the audience. I found out later that her amazing teacher had a small Elsa doll stashed on stage for Aanika to keep eyes on 🙂

School Photos were taken on Jatin’s Birthday this year so I felt compelled to order them. Jatin’s turned out lovely. Aanika has 2 photos because I had her’s re-done. Jatin – 9 years old, grade 4, Aanika – 5 years old, grade t-k.
The kids are in the same school again this year which is awesome! Jatin entered 4th grade (officially now an upperclassmen) and Aanika is in TK. The best part is they are right next to each other on campus and Jatin got his same teacher, class and friends as last year!
