Summer Quarantine Life

Quarantine life is here to stay for a while. As time continues to go by we are all picking up new skills and roles at home. We are all cleaners, chefs, hairdressers, barbers and handymen! We’re fairing okay. On the really hot days it feels a little harder to be stuck at home because the yard is so hot until at least 5! But thank goodness for Family Wednesday’s where we swim and have a mid week party all to do it again on family Saturday’s!

Nick has now given all 3 of us styling cuts, and I tried, but he won’t let me cut the top. I think he secretly LOVES his new curly locks! read more

4th of July 2020

We opted out of the neighborhood parade this year and ended up driving around in the Chevelle with the kids followed by burgers and swimming. Heard lots of fireworks but didn’t actually see them lol. Our outfits were on point as usual.

Quarantine Life – June 2020

Well June was no less dramatic then all the months before hand in 2020. We are continuing to stay at home as much as possible and the kids are officially on summer break. Jatin is growing like a weed and Nick thinks his voice is going to change soon! We’ve gone and walked the mall twice now as our Friday date in masks but shopping is definitely not the same anymore.

We started playing monopoly deal and are totally addicted! Jatin is a champ and kinda ruthless!

We also celebrated Father’s Day. Nick went for a early morning ride and the kids and I snuck out to get him donuts and get his dad basket ready. Then Daddy and Mommy joined us in the garden for some pakoras and donuts. Nick made a point to do something special with this kids individually. Aanika of course got her ride with her daddy in the Porsche while Jatin and him played some of their favorite games. read more

COVID-19 Coke and Milk

Well the boys will he boys and my goodness the quarantine has brought us all closer than ever and nick and jatin are best friends-father and son in the cutest way! They have started daily workouts and have a home gym setup in the backyard. Jatin can’t do pull ups yet so he hangs on the bar to build strength.

The epic coke and milk recipe was handed down. Milk first. Ice cold coke on top.

The arcade has become a hangout for all things including commemorating the 40th anniversary of pac man by building a custom coaster. read more

COVID-19 May-June 2020

Well our new normal isn’t quite normal but everyone is adjusting to our new lives during the pandemic. The news has not been covering the pandemic at all for a few weeks now after a black lives matter movement has taken precedence after the murder of George Floyd. This year has officially been a very dynamic and historical moment in time with such huge disruptions to what we called normal. It has inspired and changed us all in many ways. For me my art has kicked into high gear as an expression of love and hope that we can all be kind to one another. read more

COVID-19 Mother’s Day and More

Mother’s Day was lovely this year. I slept in and got coffee and cards in bed followed by a road trip to mom and dads and then over to McDonald’s to pickup breakfast. In the afternoon we swam, Aanika and I rocked our matching outfits and we ordered Greek Food. It was perfect.

Everyone is doing well and staying positive and safe during the never ending stay at home orders. It looks like things won’t be lifted until July so we are continuing to live life and have fun everyday. Lots of outside play time. Daily walks even in the rain! Video Games. Netflix and Chill – until Aanika wakes up lol. Family car rides. Time to enjoy and cherish the little things. ❤️ read more

COVID-19 Update – April to May Here We Come

We have been in a world of social distancing for over a month now. May 1st has come and we’re realizing that this life is going to stay our new norm. While Los Angeles will slowly start easing up on certain social distance measures it seems pretty apparent that the kids will be homeschooled for the duration of the calendar year, virtual meetings and virtual happy hours are regular events on our calendar and a lot of family outside playtime is in our cards. We’ve adjusted as well as I could have hoped for and continue to introduce fun ways to enjoy our home and beautiful family amidst this pandemic. read more

Aanika’s DIY Dollhouse

It’s been on my crafty mom to do list for several years. I decided to finally make Aanika a dollhouse out of recycled materials. We started with a rite aid box that brought up precious toilet paper a few days ago lol and then built the inside out of stacked shoeboxes. Once the structure was in place I papered all the walls and ceilings with craft paper, and a few special embellishments like a mini family portrait and a piece of Aanikas art work for the main great room wall! It turned out adorable and our little Aaniku loves it. Might just make more for fun 🙂 read more

COVID-19 Weeks 3-5

Everything is starting to blur together. We are all adjusting to love under quarantine and the initial shock has worn off. Certain realities have set in like Nick looks great with huge fluffy hair, Jatin looks great with blue hair, Aanika continues to live her best life and I am doing my best to keep meals on the table and some fun throughout the house.

Nick was a champ and gave Jatin an awesome haircut in the garage!

The dogs are absolutely loving having us home all the time. read more
