Ferrari

Okay so we’re only a few years off the goal of Nick getting a Ferrari by the time he was 40! It’s stunning! Shiny red, black interior and sounds like a sports car! Aanika LOVES it and wants to go for a drive every time she sees it! She has a love for speed and curves and the sound the engine makes just like her daddy.

Election, Diwali and Thanksgiving 2020

Everything was a little simpler and quieter this year but we still enjoyed the festivities. On Diwali we did a small Pooja at home and then Nick, Jatin and I headed to to the strangers thing drive through experience.

We’ve been enjoying our usual scrabble, Monopoly deal and cover your assets game nights, and Aanika had started to join us in the front room while we play while on her iPad or coloring with the occasional dance breakout.

Halloween 2020

Halloween had to be drastically different this year given the inability to trick or treat due to the pandemic. So our beautiful little neighborhood hosted a Celtic court block party. Each family brought pre packages candies and we setup tables with our decorative pumpkins. The kids trick or treated from one table to another and got to ride scooters and hang out afterwards. It was a lovely way to experience Halloween without risking going door to door.

Jatinโ€™s 13th Birthday

Our baby Jatin is officially a teenager!! And what an amazing young man he’s turning into. Besides his voice changing, his limbs have officially stretched and he super lean. He loves working out daily with Nick and enjoys Anime and Manga. He is sweet, sincere, loves to take interest in others old and young and has a heart of gold. He’s an awesome big brother and such a loving son. We are blessed to have him as our kiddo and can’t wait to see what the next years bring.

He started his day with pull-ups with his dad and the agreement was in between each set he would get to open up a gift! The highlight was clearly the limited edition One Piece watch that Nick had preordered months in advance! read more

Vaniโ€™s 41st Birthday – 2020

Had a lovely low key birthday celebration this year. Went to Marmalade Cafe In calabasas on Saturday with Nick and on Sunday Mommy and Daddy joined us for tea and cake. Beautiful flowers, cards, a very huge snuggly wearable blanket paired with mango mousse cake ๐Ÿ™‚

Usually we would be in Idaho this weekend but Grinkers has officially closed due to the pandemic so Nick and Kris organized a farewell to Grinkers zoom on Saturday night. We all shared stories about Grinkers past events and sent our love to Steve and his family for creating such an unforgettable event for all of us. It was sad but great to see everyone again. read more

Aanikaโ€™s 9th Birthday – 2020

Our beautiful, unicorn Aanika turned 9 today! She woke up with her usual sweet “good morning mommy, let’s go downstairs and get something to eat.” She then proceeded to pickup her calculator and call her Nani to see if she was coming over. I told her that her Nani and Nana would be joining us for cake time.

Aanika and Jatin had zoom school until noon and then we all did presents and cake over their lunch. Aanika was most excited for her Peppa Pig cake decorations and her new lipglosses! read more

August 2020

August has been a positive month filled with good energy. Lot’s of activity buzzing around the Gundara house. The kids started virtual zoom school and are doing much better than expected. They have adapted quickly only how kiddos can! We are very proud of them. We continue to stay busy with work and school and are trying our best to intentionally incorporate family fun time throughout the week. We have also decided to close down the physical office location for Design Spinners and I will be working full time from the house. Finally going to get that Tanker Desk from the 50’s!! read more

Haircuts in 2020

While most of the country seems to be reopening salons Los Angeles is not. Mommy and Daddy haven’t had a trim in many months so they paid a visit to the very sought after NickyG salon located in Chatsworth for a in home trim! Mommy asked me to do it but Nick came to the rescue and said he would handle it because I would ruin her hair lol! Priceless memories that will forever be cherished as some good that came from 2020.

Jan – August 2020

Hilariously written ๐Ÿ˜‚ (I do not know by whom)! And I do want it in my memories ๐Ÿ˜‰if we survive 2020!

Dear Diary 2020 Edition,

In โ„๏ธ January, ๐Ÿ”ฅ Australia caught on fire. I donโ€™t even know if that fire was put out, because we straight up almost went to war with Iran ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ท . We might actually still be almost at war with them ๐Ÿค”. I donโ€™t know, because ๐Ÿ‘ฉ Jen Aniston and ๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿป Brad Pitt spoke to one another at an awards ๐Ÿ† show and everyone flipped the crap out ๐Ÿ˜ฒ, but then there was this thing happening in ๐Ÿฆ‡ ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ณ China, then ๐Ÿ‘‘ Prince Harry and Megan โœŒ๐Ÿผ peaced out of the Royal family, and there was the whole impeachment trial ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€โš–๏ธ , and then corona virus ๐Ÿฆ  showed up in the US โœ”๏ธโ€œofficially,โ€ but then ๐Ÿ€ Kobe died ๐Ÿ˜ญand UK ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง peaced out of the European Union. read more

Nicks 43rd Birthday 2020

Nick is the first of our family to celebrate his birthday in this crazy Covid 2020 world. We couldn’t make plans out but had a great birthday weekend anyway! The usual fanfare of a Gundara weekend was included; biking to Sherman Oaks, corner bakery breakfast, a stop at a local donut shop, family swim time, movies and board game time.

I had Katie send me the names of local stores that carried a chip brand called Burger Rings. Nick said he had them when he lived in Australia in 1988 but hasn’t tasted them since! Jatin picked out a a new board game RISK and we had strawberry shortcake with mommy and daddy in the backyard. read more
