The whole family was in town so we decided to have some photos taken of the Sodhi / Gundara / Narang team! It was not the easiest thing to get everyone to look at the camera the same time with out tears and with just the right smiles but in the end we ended up with some spectacular fun shots!
We had a lovely trip to San Diego to celebrate Aakash’s 5th Birthday! He celebrated in style at the Science Museum in Balboa Park. Jatin had a blast looking at all the science stations, making goo, playing with Dry Ice and visiting the grossonomy center to see where farts come from!
Kartik (Mamaji) came to visit right after the kiddos birthday party. It was lovely having him here for a few days and such a treat as always to enjoy a delicious Kartik home cooked meal! BBQ Chicken with homemade sauce fries! Can’t wait to see you again Kart!!
THE START OF OUR TRIP
We had a very MAGICAL trip on our first Disney Cruise up the Coast of California. The cruise left from Long Beach Harbor and we spent 7 days traveling up and down the Pacific Coast. We went to San Francisco, San Diego and Ensenada over the course of the trip with a few sea days in between.
The trip started with us packing up our car full of luggage and strollers ready for our fantastic Gundara Adventure! Amit was in town – so we got this lovely family photo before we left for our voyage!
Jatin made yet another fantastic city – this time within his train table boundaries. It was very impressive so I decided to document it on camera. Good thing I did because a few days later it got taken down during a housekeeper visit which Jatin was not thrilled about! Oh well. Aanika and Jatin celebrated their first Rakhi in 2012 at Nana and Nani’s house 🙂 A few darling photos below to capture the moment. Aanika wore the gorgeous hand made dress that Kalpana Aunty Nani made for her!
We took the family to Oxnard for a few days to celebrate Nick’s 35th birthday! Stayed at the Embassy Suites on the beach and loved every moment. We took Aanika to the beach for the first time, and Jatin wanted to go back to see the fish house that has the crabs and lobsters in the tanks. He screamed but is already asking us to take him back! Enjoyed the pool, and the gorgeous weather. We also went to golf and stuff. Nick and Jatin enjoyed Indy Car racing and arcade games while Aanika enjoyed riding on Dino and hanging out. Can’t wait to go back.
We had a lovely day today. A true fun-filled summer day off 🙂 Nana and Nani came to visit for a bbq and playtime with the kiddos. Later we took Aanika into the pool for the first time! She wasn’t quite sure initially but loved it about 5 minutes in. Then we finished a lovely day by taking Jatin to see Spider-man in the theaters! He’s always seen the cartoons but never seen the live action films before. He was a trooper – even with the scary lizard he stuck through and enjoyed every moment!
July 4th this year was lovely and low key. Nick and I started the morning with a bike ride on the new bike path through the valley. It was awesome! Then we picked up Jatin for some BBQ grocery shopping and a stop for some yummy patriotic donuts and milk. Later that afternoon we barbequed at home, and hung out with the kiddos! When night fell we took the M6 up the hill to enjoy some lovely fireworks! Happy 4th Everyone!
