Visit to Neera Masi and Nikki Uncles House

October 4-6, 2013

We took a three day weekend, packed up the van and the kids and embarked on a quick 2 day trip to visit Neera & Nikki! We managed to pack a lot into those 2 days. The kids did pretty good overall with the long car ride. Jatin was thrilled to have the back of the van entirely to himself and the “baby bassinet!” He was content with his awesome headphones and watching duck tales. Aanika did great too! She got her feet massaged by her dad the entire trip and got in a lovely nap. Total Trip Time – 9am – 4:30pm. Nikki met us at home once we arrived at Palo Alto. The guys were thrilled that we could walk to Fry’s to kill some time before Neera came home from work. We met Neeru at home around 6, had some tea and after many hugs and kisses we decided to go to a pizza place for dinner. The kids were hyper, naughty and messy (but hey…that’s life with kids!) 🙂 The kids were spoiled by their Masi & Uncle with toys, coloring books and an awesome book about fed up crayons! The highlight was seeing Aanika interact with her new “Lady Dog” from Lady and the Tramp. She hugged, kissed and had a 2 hour dialogue with her entirely made up of the word “no.”!

Saturday we drove into the city. First stop Golden Gate Bridge. Jatin was amazed at the bridge and was so excited to drive, walk and see the city views. Nick got VIP parking (as usual), and we were able to take a few awesome snapshots with the bridge’s beauty in the background. Another thing you’ll notice in the background of many photos through out the trip is my darling brother in-law-Nikki! You would never think that he had to be in every picture – but we’ve figure out that his passion is “photo bombing!”

After we spent some time on the bridge we went into the city and thought Rainforest cafe would be a great place to feed the family lunch. Well – as you can see from the picture, we had a lovely 10 minutes there until all the animals started growling and then the storm came in with thunder and lightning. Well – we lasted all of 5 minutes after that and proceeded to escort the fam outside the restaraunt because both children were HOWLING! We ended up eating at Applebees where Jatin proceed to tell me “Mama this is a much better place for Aanika and I….so much better!” We had a lovely meal and then walked a bit to get to Ghiradelli Square!

Jatin had a brownie and chocolate milk. Aanika scarfed down some of her brothers brownie and the rest of us enjoyed sundaes and shakes!

Once we headed back home from the city we thought it would be a good idea to burn off some of those calories so we walked to the park! That evening I showed Neeru the wonders of pinteresting (especially when planning for kids rooms!), and we ate at a great Indian spot closeby. We got to visit with Nikki’s family, and then were so exhausted that we came home and just vegged out.

7am – Sunday we were out the door per Nick’s time table and made it back to the valley by 12:30pm with enough time to enjoy a day at home before it was time for school and work.

WHAT A LOVELY TRIP! Can’t wait to do it again. THANK YOU NEERA & NIKKI for being such LOVELY HOSTS! PS: This was all so you could see what kind of baby proofing you need to do to your house now!

Love, – V,N,J,A
