Arjun and Isha’s Wedding was early Thursday morning. We met the family at the farmhouse first thing and then went together as a caravan to the Hyatt Chandigharh. After the wedding we visit Nicks cousin Sunny and his parents whom he hadn’t seen since our wedding time. So special.
The Sangeet must have been the most fabulous wedding function that I’ve ever been to. Between the decor, so much beautiful family vibes and the food we had a party that could have lasted all night! But we all had to wake up the next morning for the wedding!!
After a day in Delhi we headed over to Ludhiana to meet the family for Arjuns wedding! After a very long and eye opening 6 hours we checked into the Hyatt in Ludhiana and then pushed off to the Nat Farm House for dinner. That’s when the fun started!
Vatna Ceremony – morning before the wedding. I have never had such fresh and delicious Paratas as in the outdoor kitchen of the farmhouse. We then blessed Arjun to get him ready for the big day while the house was getting decorated for the evening Sangeet festivities.
Jatin, Nick and I flew to India for Arjuns wedding in December. We were anxious and excited to embark on our journey ahead and boy was it a wild and memorable experience. We flew through Dubai to Delhi and then stayed for a night and day in Delhi at the JW Marriott before pushing off to Ludhiana for the wedding. In Delhi Kiron Buaji hosted the local Sodhi family for tea so we got to visit. I hadn’t been in 25 years which felt like I hadn’t been at all!
15 years has passed so quickly!! We knew we had an upcoming big trip to Miami next month so decided to spend a day in Bakersfield as tourists! I know it sounds strange, but it was beautiful! We had a lovely lunch at Luigis followed by indulgent ice cream at Dewars, a walk to the Fox Theater, a bike ride through Cal State Bakersfield, a walk through the beautiful Seven Oaks estates and more. All in all a beautiful memory and way to ring in 15 years married!
I love an excuse to get dressed up but I love it even more when my kiddos get to get all dolled up also!! Jatin wasn’t sure about wearing a Kurta Pajama but ended up being the most handsome kiddo at the party. Gotta love the Converse Shoes in lieu of Jootis 😉
Wedding Weekend officially kicked off for Kartik & Zita at Mani Masi and Prabhu Uncles AMAZING new home. The flowers for the next day were everywhere, great food and lovely company made the evening spectacular. As you can see little Ms. Aanika was completely exhausted from all the running around she did that she went to sleep the second we got back to the hotel. Nick and Jatin hung out for a bit in their pajamas and enjoyed some more fun time that evening before retiring.
The wedding day was spectacular. We started the morning by celebrating Daddy’s Birthday at the Grill on the resort’s property. Then all of us girls got our hair done, makeup on, ties were tied, curls were pinned, dresses were slipped on and it was time for the big event! It was chilly, and there was a rainy overcast above (which actually made for the most perfect outdoor lighting possible!). Kartik and Zita recited their own vows which were both funny and heartfelt. The best part was we managed to get Aanika, Jatin and Naya to walk down the isle together hand in hand!!! SCORE! Nick was the genius who stashed fruity tic tac’s in his pocket and enticed each child with tic tacs before and after the whole shindig went down.
We attended the LA reception to celebrate Neha’s and Amit’s wedding last night. Here are a few of the snapshots we took at home before we headed to the party. More photos to come later from the reception itself.
May the 4th be with you! We took the kids out for their first trip to Vegas as well as attended the most unique, awesome wedding. It was Kim and Oscar’s Star Wars Wedding! Jatin loved visiting the M&M Factory along with the Coca Cola Factory. We took photos by the Coca Cola Bear, but Aanika freaked out when she got too close. It seemed like we woke up while every one else in Vegas was going to bed, so we got in a lovely walk on the strip around 7:30am. The strip is actually pretty when its empty!
